About Payment Orchestration Platform
The anonymized fintech client was building a real-time payment orchestration layer for mid-market e-commerce brands. Strong product vision, 6-person team, zero engineering bandwidth, and two failed agency engagements behind them.
The platform required multi-PSP routing, real-time ledger, merchant dashboard, automated reconciliation, and integration readiness for a production environment.

The payment orchestration engagement needed a platform that could support real transaction volume. coherent backend, reliable integrations, a dashboard business users could read, reconciliation that reduced manual risk, and an audit-ready foundation for future teams to extend.
Before Devlyn joined, the project carried the classic symptoms of stalled outsourced delivery: delayed releases, unclear ownership, heavy coordination overhead, and pressure on the founding team to keep filling execution gaps. Funding runway pressure made the third attempt the last affordable one.
